Selina, now Miko

We fell in love with Miko as soon as we saw her photo on the LHF website- we knew she was the dog for us! We were first-time dog owners, so we weren’t sure what to expect with the adoption process, especially an international adoption. However, Anita made everything so easy and smooth, she was super responsive to all of our messages during the entire process and checked in on us frequently after Miko arrived in our home. (Anita even sent us photos of Miko as a puppy when we requested them, which we were absolutely overjoyed to see). She was also extremely transparent about Miko’s behavioral issues and potential health concerns- we could tell that she truly cares about finding the right home for the dogs, not just any home. As expected, Miko was very anxious and frightened when we first got her (her whole world had been turned upside down). We were careful to heed Anita’s advice to be patient and ultra cautious in the beginning, and we were prepared to do the work. But after just a few weeks, Miko blossomed into the adorable, affectionate, and silly love bug that she is today. It brings us the greatest joy to see her running at full speed at the dog park, gobbling up her favorite treats, and sleeping in the most bizarre positions. We are so happy that LHF brought her into our lives, we honestly can’t imagine our home without her now.
