We were in search of a furry friend for a while but we didn’t find any good fit in bay area shelters. One of our family members recommended Life of Hope Foundation, which is a Taiwanese org that rescues Taiwanese strays. I was hesitant about adopting internationally since the process of importing live animals to the US might be challenging with a lot of paperwork.

We gave it a try and found Miki! We fall in love with Miki’s adorable little face instantly. After submitting the application LFH contacted us quickly with Miki’s personality. Throughout the process LFH is very transparent about Miki’s behavior and training progress. They understand their rescue dogs and thanks to their caring foster parents in Taiwan. We got approved within the same week after submitting necessary information.

After approval for adoption, we eagerly counted down the days to pick up Miki at SFO. LFH will update us on when Miki is able to fly to the US; as they rely heavily on passenger volunteers flying from Taiwan to the US.

On the pick up day, all we had to do was to be on time at the airport and Miki will arrive with her sister Mina! The whole adoption process is really easy and the adoption fee includes Miki’s export/import vet visit + flight ticket etc. This shows how dedicated the foundation is to each of their rescue dogs.

When Miki first arrived home she was very energetic, playful, excited and the best thing is that she is very well trained for potty on pee pad, crating and car rides. I believe with the necessary first step training can go a long way to have the dogs kept in a forever home. We are very thankful to LFH for allowing us to have Miki as our new family member!

Since Feb. 2022, Miki started several adventures with us, she went on day trips around the bay and even took a flight from SFO to Seattle to get her very first Puppuccino at the first Starbucks Shop! Just recently we relocated from the bay area to Las Vegas and Miki did an excellent job on this long road trip! She is super excited with new home and venture here.

We highly recommend anyone to adopt with LFH, an organization that truly cares about their rescue dogs and what is best for them to succeed in their forever home.
