Dora, now Dory

We can’t recommend Life of Hope enough when looking to adopt a dog!! We adopted our spunky pup, Dory (formerly Dora), in January 2021 and everyone at LHF made the process so enjoyable, communicative,  and quick! Anita was incredibly responsive and immediately put us in contact with Dory’s foster mom, Rita. Rita was so communicative, going above and beyond to send us pictures and videos of Dory, as well as telling us all about her personality, training and quirks (there are a lot 😆). We found out that when Dory was first rescued she was terrified of people and that it might take her at least a month to warm up to us. As soon as we picked her up from the airport it was obvious what an amazing job Rita had done socializing her and making her comfortable with people. She’s still getting comfortable with strangers but warmed up to us within the first couple of days! Now everyone who gets to spend repeated quality time with her becomes her new best friend.

Dory has very quickly adopted our active lifestyle and she’s our little adventure dog who loves hiking, camping, playing at the beach and exploring everywhere we take her. Shes also one of the goofiest dogs we’ve ever met and makes everyone in our neighborhood laugh with her antics when we take her on our nightly walks! She has been such an incredible addition to our little family and we can’t thank everyone at LHF enough 🥰
