Pocky was found wandering around in a deserted area where people rarely visit. Lucky for him, the rescue had a relative living nearby and saw him on their way home. The relative could not believe their eyes that such a small dog was left to fend for himself in an isolated place, so they called the rescuer who drove 3 hours to get Pocky. Unsurprisingly, Pocky is super friendly and came to say hi. They had no trouble getting him in the car, and seemed to know that he was then safe!
Once Pocky got to the rescuer’s house, he took no time adjusting to the new environment. He LOVES people and learned fast to walk with a leash. He does well on his daily walks. However, the rescuers have 6 dogs and Pocky has little interest in hanging out with the dogs. He just loves to be with people. When we took him to dog parks, he showed some interest and would play for a little with other dogs, but then Pocky would return to his humans quickly. If there are too many dogs at the park, he would be a bit nervous. It’s safe to say, he is a great companion for people and he loves the outdoors with his humans. We think he would do best in a home with no other dogs so that Pocky can get all the love he so deserves in this world. Pocky is house trained and would only do his business outside. He has not had any accidents so far inside the rescuer’s house. We are pleasantly surprised because Pocky is still a puppy!
