Gordon and his 9 siblings were rescued about a week old (they hadn’t even opened their eyes!). Their mom was found dead next to them, and they were still suckling their mom’s milk when the rescuer found them. The rescuer was quite certain that neighbors in that area must have poisoned the mom and found a piece of meat laced with poison nearby. Even though it was a very heartbreaking scene, it is quite a common occurrence in Taiwan. The rescuer buried their mom and took the puppies with them. The rescuer wanted to make sure that they found good homes for these 10 little pups to right the wrong that people had done to their poor mom.
Gordon is very smart and active, and at the same, easily attached to people. He is quite observant and can sense people’s feelings. He is slightly shy but not timid. Sudden loud noises like fireworks might startle him and if the traffic is too noisy, he might get a bit nervous on walks. Gordon is very food motivated and loves treats (so far he’s not allergic to any food). Gordon loves to play with other dogs and is respectful of other dogs’ boundaries. He would invite other dogs to play with him and does not play rough. He does not guard his food – whether towards other dogs or people. He does not exhibit separation anxiety and waits patiently for his foster family to return if they leave him at home. He barks but not excessively and would only bark a bit when he gets scared from loud noise. – which is understandable.
