Meet our brave Loki

Since he was a puppy, Loki wondered in the mountains. People he encountered had not always been kind to him, but he is still super friendly to strangers, always has a smile on his face.

Loki is very smart. Every day, at the same time, he would go to the same house for food, because he knows that this family would always feed him. One day, Loki failed to show up, the lady of the house started to worry if something bad had happened to Loki, since there are a lot of traps in the mountains. Three days later, Loki showed up with a wounded leg. He slowly approached the lady, who saw that Loki’s leg was broken and the gin trap that caused the injury was still stuck on his let. Although in pain, Loki still showed his signature smile at the lady and happily wagging his tail. The lady immediately called our rescuer for help. Without any hesitation, our rescuer immediately drove up to the house and when she saw Loki, it was a moment she will never forget; Loki rolled over on his back for the rescuer to stroke his tummy… and it was the very first time they met!

Loki was then, placed in a cage and taken to the hospital. During all this time, Loki has never stopped smiling! No one ever saw him showing any expression he was in pain. He was just like a happy angel. He made everyone just want to love him more and more. We also learnt from Loki that “smile can ease all the pain”.

After amputation of his wounded leg, Loki’s everyday living is not at all effected by the fact that he is missing one leg. He is enjoying been able to eat well and spending time with family member both indoor and outdoor. Loki gets along well with both dogs and cats. The truth is, we are worried that, with only three legs, Loki would have less change of finding a forever family. Before that time comes, Loki will wait patiently.

Since Loki enjoys the sun a lot and will go to the bathroom outdoor, we believe a yard with safety fences would be more suitable for him.
