When your application is approved, you will need to pick her up from the airport – such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, IAH, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works.
Rescue Story
While out on a walk with her own dogs, the rescuer spotted a stray mother dog with a few small puppies following closely behind her. The sweet puppies immediately tried to follow the rescuer, so she wanted to rescue the whole family together.
Unfortunately, despite her best efforts, the mother dog and one of the puppies could not be captured. Instead, she was able to safely rescue and bring the other puppies inside to safety.
Overall Summary Clover is a calm and slightly independent dog. She can be a bit fearful at first, but she will adapt beautifully if you give her some time and approach her slowly. Her love for food makes her very easy to train and bond with, and she is extremely well-behaved when waiting at cafes or restaurants. She loves other dogs, has a moderate energy level, and is overall a very good girl.Overall Summary Clover is a calm and slightly independent dog. Personality – At first, she is a bit shy around new people, but since she loves treats, she will eventually approach you. She does great if you avoid making sudden, aggressive movements and give her some time to adjust, which usually sparks her curiosity. Please note that she can get startled easily if you try to put a leash on her or grab her suddenly. The foster is working on improving Clover’s timid personality and she has got much better so far.
Experience with children – She hasn’t spent much time around children, but when we had kids offer her treats, she gently accepted them. We just made sure to ask the kids not to make sudden, loud noises or wild movements around her.
Experience with cats – She doesn’t show much interest in cats. If there is a cat in the home, she should get along just fine once she gets used to them.
Behavior in cars – She tends to drool quite a bit in the car, but she is gradually improving. For long-distance trips, it is highly recommended to keep her on an empty stomach. She tends to lie completely flat before getting into the car When she does this, just gently hold her up and place her in the crate.
Potty training – She prefers doing her business outdoors, but when indoors, she will use potty pads.
Behavior when left alone – She tends to whine a bit when people are out of sight. Since we have other dogs at home, she has never been left completely by herself.
Resource guarding – She is very patient and waits nicely for her turn to get treats. Because she is highly food-motivated, she will keep a close eye on other dogs’ treats if they don’t eat them, but she never growls.
Leash and walk experience – She maintains a good, comfortable distance on the leash. She is an absolute natural at walks! She is very easy to manage on walks. She has never been off-leash. She shows curiosity toward other dogs but does not pull or drag you.
